6. Finland has a competitive sport known as Wife Carrying, they also host the World Championships every year. Men attempt to carry their wives through an obstacle course with the quickest possible time.





7. In Finland ‘trespassing’ usually isn’t an issue. You can normally camp on most land, pick berries and mushrooms and catch fish without a permit.





8. During the Winter War, Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov claimed the soviet planes over Finland were not bombers but humanitarian food drops. The Finns named their invented explosives Molotov Cocktails, “A drink to go with the food.




9. Finland has earned a medal at every Olympic game since 1908.





10. Every year, Finland increases in surface area by about 7 square kilometres because it is rebounding from the weight of ice-age glaciers and rising out of the sea
