Naantali and The Moomins

Unfortunately we got to Naantali a little bit late in the year, it is said to be more lively during the summer season. The main attraction in Naantali is Moomin world, located on one of the archipelagos close by. For those who do not know the Moomins, they are white creatures drawn by Tove Jansson (1914-2001) who was a Finnish-Swedish writer and artist. He achieved worldwide fame as the creator of the stories about the Moomins, written and illustrated between 1945 and 1977. The Moomin family and friends live an adventurous life, I recall watching the Moomins in the UK when I was younger. There is Ittala crockery sold in a lot of the department stores, so if you want to buy something authentically Finnish this would be a good choice!
